The Patrol Division, which is directed by Lieutenant Sean Kennedy, is the most visible part of the department and acts as the backbone of the department. The Patrol Division is comprised of 3 Sergeants and 8 Patrol Officers.
Each sergeant and patrol officer works a 4 days on and 2 days off rotating schedule consisting of two 11-7 shifts and two 3-11 shifts. A minimum staffing level includes one sergeant and one patrol officer 24 hours a day, 7 days a week 365 days a year.
The primary focus of the patrol division is:
Providing emergency responses
Servicing community calls
Patrolling the town
The patrol division responds to an average of 10,000 service calls per year. The department cruiser fleet consists of the following vehicles:
Car 4: Patrol Sergeant (Chevy Caprice)
Car 5: Patrol Vehicle (Ford Interceptor SUV)
Car 6: Patrol Vehicle (Chevy Caprice)
Car 7: Patrol Vehicle (Ford Interceptor SUV)
Car 8: Special Operations (Ford Interceptor SUV)
MC-1: Harley-Davidson Motorcycle
